Rooftop Restraint RSS14
Course Introduction A half day course(either 9am - 1pm or 1:30pm - 5pm) aimed at teaching the worker who may be working in an area of fall potential in how to set up safe restraint systems whilst on a rooftop. The course looks at preventative measures over protection measures.
The course practical sessions are delivered on an outdoor training structure. So students are advised to bring with them appropriate clothing for the prevailing weather conditions.
Prerequisites The student must have a current Rooftop safety and Harness appreciation certificate or similar. Minimum age 18 and students must have an understanding of English. A fit for work declaration will need to be completed before start of course.
Certificate Validation This course has a 3 year validation.
Course content looks at setting up safe systems of work whilst on rooftops - anchor Point Selection - Tensioning a line - Basic Knots - Simple rigging techniques – Restraint systems
Assessment procedure Ongoing practical assessment throughout the course and a questions and answers paper on completion of the course to gauge your understanding of the course content. Assistance will be given for those who may need it..
